As a car enthusiast it’s always fun to visit and see automotive shops, detailing ones especially. Walking into Classic Shine it’s clear that they take a lot of pride in their work. The shop is beautiful and filled with several very nice classics as well as modern cars. Their list of services is pretty long for a detailer, but makes sense for them to offer. Services include:
Paint Protection Films,
and Car Storage.
Additionally they offer some mechanical services, for instance when I was there they were working on 2 different vehicles. One was a truck being vinyl wrapped and the other was a Chevelle that was having a few upgrades done. So by mechanical services, we don’t mean oil changes. In all their services they show their care and attention to detail in putting out some very high quality products.
Pardon this awful pun, Classic Shine definitely outshines their local competitors. This is true in both their customer service and the actual shine of a detailed car. The level of their products is even superior as they’re the only local detailer that offers Modesta ceramic coatings. Between going out of their way to please you as a customer, and their honest pricing it’s hard to justify getting a detail anywhere else. Classics, antiques, collectibles, luxury, and even race cars, no matter what you bring to Classic Shine you’ll be leaving with a smile.
Don’t want to believe us? Here’s a couple of their Facebook reviews:
Dustin says:”Couldn't ask for a better team to work on my vehicles. I would recommend these guys to anyone because there work is amazing. Especially when they can take a very dirty wrangler and make it look brand new inside. Thanks for the great work.”
Or what about Phil, “These guys did a spectacular job and we're extremely detail-oriented. Great all-around mix of quality and value..”
Their site is still in progress but for now check them out and give them a like on FB: https://www.facebook.com/classicshinellc/
Let me just start off with a link to their facebook page where you can see dozens of cakes they’ve made… Amy’s Custom Cakery You expect to see cakes like this on tv, not in your backyard. Amy’s staff has some incredible talent and could probably have a tv show if they wanted. Their cakes are gorgeous and Amy is awesome to work with.
Their specialty is fondant rolled wedding and special occasion cakes. Once you’ve had one you’ll probably be ordering them for every occasion (they’re that good). Their cakes give you a reason to celebrate things. We’re talking weddings, birthdays, holidays, pto meetings, graduation parties, your kid bringing that B or C in english up to an A… You’ll use every excuse you can find to order a cake. Maybe cakes aren’t your thing, fair to say but they’ve got other choices too.
Oh we’re not done, they do more than cakes. Cupcakes, cake pops, chances are if there is cake in it’s name Amy’s can make it. When I first walked in I had to really fight to not buy them out of cake pops. I can tell you about them all day but let’s look at what their customers have to say. This is a review from their Facebook by Chris and Jess,”I've never been to this business before and they came up on a quick Google search of bakery's in my area. so I sent an email requesting a single unicorn cupcake last minute thinking they we're gonna think I was nuts and say no, and to my surprise they responded, were willing and got it done the same day! and they did an amazing job, it was just what i wanted. and the staff were great, seems like a bunch of super fun ppl working there having fun. I will definitely be back for any future cake needs!!!” If that isn’t the definition of customer service, I don’t know what is…
Amy’s Custom Cakery is located in Dover, PA and we HIGHLY suggest giving them a call for your next cake.
This was one of my most exciting interviews to date. Kathryn is an absolute pleasure to work with. I had no idea walking in that she had just taken the business over the week prior. With that in mind she’s already made some small changes with a lot more in store. Founded in 1958 Olp’s Flowers has been a staple in Jacobus, but had a stigma about it we call the “old york ways”. The good news is that Kathryn has a new mentality and is so excited for the opportunity she’s been given to grow the business. She hopes the new business will make an imprint on the surrounding area. This is one of the few articles we won’t be including pictures in. Simply because so much is going to change that we want to do a follow up with Kathryn after everything is remodeled.
We had the opportunity to preview some of the pieces she was working on and were surprised by her meticulous attention to small details. She’s an awesome artist and I have zero doubt you’ll enjoy anything she makes you. When we talked about her past experience in the floral industry I was kind of puzzled as to why in the world she’s back in York. The simple answer: she's native to Southern York County and believes in the area's potential. Almost like our neighbor over the river Lancaster, York’s rehab project promises some huge changes in the area over the next few years. Kathryn hopes to be a driving force for change as fine arts are growing in popularity locally. More on that in our coming article...
Why choose Olp’s Flowers? Great sense of style and a passion for perfection that shines through in their work. We’ll be bringing you a much more in depth article on Olp’s when the remodel and renovations are complete. By then you'll already know the name when you think York Pa flowers...
This place is awesome. Some of the friendliest barbers around York and by far the coolest spot I’ve had my hair done. They’re celebrating an amazing 55 years in business this year so a massive congratulations to them. Opening in 1962 they’ve been family owned and operated ever since. They started out with only 1 barber and 3 chairs and have grown to 10 chairs and 8 stylists/barbers and still expanding!
On to the “new school” in our title.. I’ll call them an “everything” barbershop, men’s cuts, women’s cuts, and children too. Their artists offer an array colors, so whatever you’re looking for they’ve got you covered. I’ll have to admit I’m not a cosmetologist and I don’t know every single service they offer, but if you’re looking for an amazing shave then look no further. Barbering has been around as long as cutting hair has. So how do they stay at the top of their game and updated with the freshest styles? Constantly taking classes and furthering their educations. It’s like how doctors and lawyers attend seminars and classes to stay updated on health and law. Except a career with hair is far from as bland as a medical or legal careers.
Where do we expect to see them in the next few months? Well they should have their 2 extra chairs filled which means 10 barbers/stylists. More shavers means more hot towel shaves, and more razor work all around. We’re expecting to see some pretty epic cuts coming out of Mt. Rose Barberama this year. More than that we hear they’ll be carrying more professional product as well so look out for MRB to be your everything hair one-stop-shop. Their 55 year celebration will be on Small Business Saturday (Nov. 18, 2017) where they might be giving away a lifetime of free haircuts.
After getting the grand tour of Veleska’s showroom and studio all I can say is WOW! So many beautiful pieces and such a massive variety I find it hard to believe they don’t have exactly what you’re looking for. But if they don’t you’re still in luck, I would venture to say that their artists are the absolute best that Lancaster County has to offer. I’m no jewelry expert but I was completely blown away by their custom work, I specifically remember this one ring…
I believe it was a 2 carat diamond in a white gold ring. I can’t even describe it. As hard as I’ve tried to put it into words nothing does it justice. Truly magnificent jewelry and the experience to back up their quality. I honestly knew nothing about jewelry walking into Veleska, and now I can tell you all about the 4Cs of diamond grading. Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat weight. Do I know how to grade a diamond? Absolutely not, but Veleska certainly does!
Ok now let’s talk about that thing no guy is really ever ready for but your girlfriend is going to ask about until you ask her… Engagement rings. Now I (like a majority of men) had no idea what I was doing when it comes to engagement rings. Kathryn at Veleska helped completely de-mystify the entire process and made choosing a design/cut/diamond such a fun experience. She really understood that I didn’t know what I was doing and walked me through every step from choosing a band design, band material, diamond cut, even letting me choose my own diamond. While I was waiting for her to mock something up to give me a really good idea at what I was I walked around their showroom to see what else they offered. I stumbled across their Trollbeads display and realized that they had a better version of the pandora bracelet I had purchased for Valentine's day. Much better quality and you definitely won’t be overpaying at Veleska either.
Timeless styles and the best service you’ll ever receive. There’s no reason to shop anywhere but Veleska Jewelry. Check them out at: http://www.veleska.com/
